After their engagement shoot I could not wait to shoot Genna & Kenny’s wedding.  Genna is the total diva and Kenny adores her.  He smiles all the time and they both are full of laughter.  The wedding proved to be full of love & laughter.

I know Genna is patiently waiting for these pics so I will keep it short and move on to the pics:)

Genna & Kenny – Thank you for allowing me to document your first day as Mr. & Mrs. Hamilton.  I hope you enjoy your pics.

These flowers were so unique.  These flowers are made out of paper.  What a neat element!!  Check out the designer for more information.

I don’t normally post many “formals” on the blog but these two cuties with Genna are the couple’s little ones.  Both escaped me the majority of the day, but I think we have a cute one here :)

The below pic has a funny story behind it…..Genna & Kenny had wanted to take some pics at the Lincoln before the ceremony, so we headed over there.  It was crazy busy that day, but I thought we could get some shots (which we did!).  People tend to move out of the shot when they see you are taking more formal pics and all.  We had done some shots of just Genna & a handful of the two of them.  I wanted to try, just try for one shot of the bridal party.  Well, as soon as I got them situated I knew it was not going to happen without the tourists in the background.  The reason I still kept the shot though is the  security guards in the background (man in white with the yellow stripe and his buddy).  Who knew that you are supposed to have a permit to take pics there….not me;)  I am pretty sure they were writing me a ticket, but quickly left right after this shot:)

The flowers at reception were so incredible.  The theme was cherry blossoms & orchids (flowers were done by Tierra Floral & the reception was held at The Westin Grand in Georgetown).

I normally would not save this pic since it is technically lacking (ie: my hand shook taking it), but there is no way I could delete it.  The look on both Genna & her father’s face is priceless.

Ericha Farrington: Beautiful! Can't wait to see more! Was this your wedding before the workshop?

It was an early morning when I met up with Genna & Kenny for their engagement pictures.  They had picked Georgetown for their background and we wanted to get our pictures done before the city really woke up….of course the morning sunrise light was amazing as well:)

They are also getting married in Georgetown in just 2 weeks!!!  I can’t wait for their wedding, it is going to be so great!

Genna & Kenny -  Thank you for all the laughter!!!  Your shoot was so much fun (even if we all were still fully waking up!).  I hope that you enjoy your pics and cannot wait for your day!

So this post is all about Austin & Andrea.  I could photograph them all day long!   It is always amazing to me how God can bring two people together, who are so different, but it makes so much sense.  Andrea is so warm, inviting, stylish, a vegetarian for 17+ years, and is super organized.  Austin is a chill man who loves to play in his band, a goof ball, and a total carnivore.  Together though, they complement each other so well and watching them together just makes me smile:)

So, I give you a collection of Austin & Andrea…

Due to opting for a “first look” we had plenty of time to get some shots of them as a couple before we lost daylight.  This was very important due to their late October wedding day.

What I love most about this picture is that it was a total candid moment.  While I was shooting Austin I saw Andrea out of the corner of my eye and with a quick turn I captured this with Andrea not even knowing.  I love it!

Here are a couple of ring shots that I saved for this post.  I couldn’t decide between the two of them, so help me decide.  Which one do you like best?

Summer: AMAZING. Beautiful. These two posts of their wedding pics bring tears to my eyes. To know their stories, to know how God brought them together and to see the beauty of this God ordained marriage is so moving. Heather, thank you for doing what you do - for capturing these wonderful moments and such special memories so that stories can be told for years and years to come.

alison: wow~these are all really gorgeous! Beautiful couple & beautiful images!

admin: Thanks so much Alison!! They were such a fab couple to shoot. Out of curiosity, how did you find my blog?

Ify Offor: Amazing. Beautiful. I almost cried when I saw this (and I am at work!). I wish you two all the happiness your hearts can hold. With much love, Ify

Where to start…..this wedding was amazing!  I knew when we shot their engagement shoot that their wedding was going to nothing short of perfection and it did not disappoint.  I had a very hard time choosing the pics to blog from this wedding, so we are doing it in two posts.  The first post will have the shots from the day and post two will be all about Austin & Andrea!

Austin & Andrea – I had such a blast capturing your big day.  You guys are two awesome people:)  Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to document the first milestone in your new family.  Hope you enjoy reliving your day.

♥ Heather

Andrea & Austin opted for a “first look”.  It allowed us to get some great pics of them as a couple.  As a photographer and former bride I can not recommend enough doing a first look.  You are allowed the opportunity to have still experience that “first look” moment but in private and then…we get awesome pics! Check out part 2 for some amazing pics of the bride and groom.

Until…then we continue with the “first look”…

img_3492

As a note, none of these pics are posed.  I place the groom in a pretty area and then have his bride come up behind him.  Sometimes the best pics of the bride and groom are from this time.  The emotions are almost tangible.

I couldn’t decide which one I liked best, what do you think?

It had been raining a ton the week leading up to the wedding and even rained 2-3 times during that day.  It ended up so perfect though.  About 30 minutes before the ceremony was scheduled to start the rain let up, the clouds parted and blue shown through.  It was an awesome moment to see; grey on either side and a light blue right where the bride & groom were about to wed.  God was smiling down on them:)

Check back tomorrow for the photos of the bride & groom.  There are some good ones:)

Ebony: They are totally hot! Love it...when I get married you are flying where ever I may be.

admin: Ebony - I would be honored to fly anywhere to photograph your gorgeous self!

Nick: You are amazing and they are adorable.

admin: Thanks Nick!

AH: Who is that handsome guy?

admin: Funny Austin :)

I am so happy to be able to share with you the pictures from Nick & Dorsia’s wedding.  The wedding took place in Westerville, Ohio (suburb of the great city of Columbus) @ Vineyard Church of Columbus. This wedding was so very special to me.  You see, Nick & Dorsia were married in the very same room as I was and the same pastor married them.   It was such an awesome experience to be in that same place over 4 years later capturing another couple’s love that had brought them to the very same place.  The ceremony was awesome and you could truly feel the presence of God in the room.

Nick & Dorsia – may you experience God’s incredible grace on your marriage for many years.  Thank you for allowing the honor of documenting your love.  Enjoy reliving your day!

♥ Heather

We must start with Dorsia’s amazing dress.  It was a dream to photograph!

All the beautiful ladies in a more “formal” shot…

img_1520b

Nick & Dorsia wanted all their couple shots done at the Nationwide arena district in downtown Columbus.  Due to a variety of timing setbacks we were running late.  As we were driving down the highway I prayed that God would just give us 10 more minutes of light so that Nick & Dorsia could have some amazing images.  Well, He did and we got some awesome shots in a very short amount of time.  Yay for answered prayers!!!

It then turned into a night shoot…something a little different, but cool!
